Productivity Awards

The Limpopo Regional Productivity Awards are held annually by the government’s sole agency tasked with promoting productivity, Productivity SA, in collaboration with LEDET. The primary objective of the awards is to provide a platform to inspire a competitive and productive South Africa. Productivity improvement is considered the most effective way of ensuring on-going competitiveness, economic growth and, consequently, more wealth for all.

In the much-coveted Public Sector category, the Limpopo Department of Roads and Transport (LDRT) was honoured for its improvement in its service delivery. The improvement in service delivery was recorded as a result of organisation-wide Performance Improvement interventions.

The awards were adjudged from three categories of corporate, emerging and public sectors. The regional awards served as a precursor to the National Productivity SA Awards scheduled to take place in Gauteng on 28 October 2011.

The Limpopo Department of Roads and Transport has also been nominated as a finalist in the National Productivity SA Awards. This award will be an invaluable addition to the department’s trophy cabinet which already holds the Premier’s Excellence Awards for Best Service Delivery Team or the Institution of the Year and second position in the category of Best Department of the Year.
