Private ceremony for families of the two South African special force members still missing at sea

The South African National Defence Force (SANDF) will accompany the families of the members who went missing at sea during a military exercise at Sandwich Harbour in Walvis Bay, Namibia.

This is to allow the families to conduct cultural rituals. The names of the members are Captain Kgabo Wilson Mabutla (27) from Ga-Matlala in Polokwane and Corporal Senatla Abel Sebooa (27) from Orange Farm, South of Johannesburg. Both members are from the 4 SA Special Forces Regiment.

An extensive search and rescue operation has been underway since 6 October 2013 following a boat accident during the SADC Special Forces multinational force preparation Exercise WELWITCHIA in Namibia. After two weeks of searching, the operation has been downscaled to a smaller format and will continue.
