The Commission of Gender Equality (CGE) strongly denounces the recently publicised inauguration ceremony of Mpendulo Sigcawu as King of the amaXhosa nation which took place despite a formal complaint with the Commission on Traditional Leadership Disputes and Claims about the legitimacy of the Mpendulo Sigcawu kingship.
The CGE in emphatic support of Princess NamaXhosa Sigcawu has formally instructed an East London firm of Attorneys – Godongwana Ngonyama Pakade Attorneys to launch urgent legal proceedings to ensure that Princess NomaXhosa Sigcawu ascends to the throne of the amaXhosa nation. The impending legal action will seek to tackle the inequality and unfair discrimination faced by Princess NomaXhosa Sigcawu within the traditional leadership structure.
