President Zuma signs into law the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa Amendment Act 2014

President Jacob Zuma has in terms of Section 84(2) (a) of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa, 1996, signed into law the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa Amendment Act, 2014 (Act No.2 of 2014).

The Act amongst others seeks to provide for more clarity on the powers and duties of the Independent Communications Authority (ICASA), its councillors and committees, improve the efficiency of ICASA, conform the ICASA Act more closely to the requirements of the Public Finance Management Act, 1999 (Act No. 1 of 1999).
