President Zuma sends condolences on the passing of ANCWL Leader and former National Council of Provinces (NCOP) Whip

President Jacob Zuma has expressed his sense of loss and condolences on the passing of the African National Congress Women's League (ANCWL) Deputy President and former ANC Chief Whip in the National Council of Provinces, Ms Nosipho Dorothy Ntwanambi, who passed on yesterday.

She was an important cog in the quest towards a non-racial, non-sexist, democratic and prosperous South Africa in her various capacities such as being a dedicated educator, community builder and advocate for women's rights. Ms Ntwanambi was also a founding member of the United Women's Organisation and the Democratic Teachers' Union, the forerunner to the South African Democratic Teachers' Union (SADTU).

"Our country has lost a passionate leader of the people and a seasoned agitator for gender equality. We wish to express, on behalf of government and the people of South Africa, our deepest condolences to her family, friends and comrades. May her soul rest in peace," said President Zuma.
