President Zuma mourns the sad passing of Bafana Assistant Coach

President Jacob Zuma has today learnt of the sad passing of national soccer team, Bafana Bafana Assistant Coach Thomas Madigage in a reported car accident.

Madigage had just helped the team and National Coach Gordon Igesund trounce the Harambe Stars of Kenya on their home turf in Nairobi this week. He was one of the youngest and most promising coaches in the country, having distinguished himself as a player at home for Jomo Cosmos, Supersport United and Bafana Bafana as well as a successful stint in Switzerland.

In the words of his peers, he was an epitome of composure, respect and yet such agility.

“On the field we remember his speed and agility as well as the ability to shoot and score from a very long distance,” said President Zuma.

Many have also attested to the fact that off the field he was quiet yet jocular and friendly.

“On behalf of government and the entire South African population, we convey our most heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and relatives, the Bafana Coach and the whole squad as well as the entire soccer fraternity. Your loss is our loss as a nation. May his soul rest in peace!” said the President.
