The President of the Republic of South Africa, His Excellency Mr Jacob Zuma, has today, on behalf of the Government and people of South Africa, congratulated Mr Peter Mutharika, President-elect of the Republic of Malawi, on his successful election.
President Zuma said: "We would like to assure Mr Mutharika of South Africa's commitment to strengthening bilateral relations between our two countries. I would also like to take this opportunity to congratulate the people of Malawi for successfully conducting their elections, thus entrenching a democratic culture in the country."
