President Jacob Zuma has paid tribute to all South African school teachers for their immense contribution to the liberation and the development of the country as teachers celebrate the World Teachers Month, October.
“During the month of October we celebrate the role that teachers play in building a positive future. On behalf of government and the people of South Africa, I thank each and every teacher for hard work and dedication.
“This month we honour you, and acknowledge your importance to our society,” President Zuma said.
The President further said the entire population of South Africa entrust to teachers the future of the country as they form the basis of building a just society.
“Your input, your experience, knowledge and skills – are vital if we are to achieve excellence in education, and create a better life for all.
“Thank you for your tireless work, and let World Teachers Month inspire all of us to together move South Africa Forward through education,” President Zuma said.
