President Jacob Zuma conveys condolences on the passing of musician Mr Ricardo Groenewald

President Jacob Zuma has conveyed his heartfelt condolences on the passing of South Africa's legendary musician and one of the country's first child stars, Mr Ricardo Groenewald, who succumbed to cancer on Wednesday, 25 November 2015 in Cape Town.

Mr Groenewald would be remembered for his hit song, "I love you daddy” which was released in 1987, when the singer was only eight years old.

"His family should find solace in the fact that this talented performer warmed many hearts with his soulful music and excelled way beyond his age when began his musical career. We extend our deepest condolences to the family and all fans of Mr Groenewald'' said President Zuma.
