President Jacob Zuma conveys condolences on the passing of former Deputy Minister, Dr Jean Swanson-Jacobs

President Jacob Zuma has today learned with sadness of the passing of Dr Jean Swanson-Jacobs, former Deputy Minister of Social Development, who had been admitted to a Cape Town hospital last week. Dr Swanson-Jacobs served as Social Development Deputy Minister until 2009.

“She was very driven. She took the task especially of fighting against drugs and substance abuse to her heart. On behalf of government and the country, we wish to convey our deepest words of condolence to her family and friends. May her soul rest in peace,” said President Zuma.
