President Jacob Zuma has, in terms of section 174(6) of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa, 1996, and on the advice of the Judicial Service Commission, appointed six judges to some of the Superior Courts of South Africa.
The following judges have been appointed:
(i) The Honourable Madam Justice Nambitha Dambuza as Judge of the Supreme Court of Appeal, Bloemfontein, with effect from 01 June 2015 in an existing vacancy.
(ii) The Honourable Mr Justice Rammaka Steven Mathopo as Judge of the Supreme Court of Appeal, Bloemfontein, with effect from 01 June 2015 in an existing vacancy.
(iii) The Honourable Mr Justice Achmat Naaim Jappie as Judge President of the KwaZulu-Natal Division of the High Court, Pietermaritzburg, with effect from 01 June 2015 in an existing vacancy.
(iv) The Honourable Mr Justice Ephraim Mampuru Makgoba as Judge President of the Limpopo Division of the High Court, Polokwane, with effect from 01 August 2015 in an existing vacancy.
(v) Advocate Gerald Hercules Bloem SC as Judge of the Eastern Cape Division of the High Court, Grahamstown, with effect from 01 June 2015 in an existing vacancy.
(vi) Advocate Selby Mfanelo Mbenenge SC as Judge of the Eastern Cape Division of the High Court, Bhisho, with effect from 01 July 2015 in an existing vacancy.
