President Jacob Zuma has, in terms of the Special Investigating Units and Special Tribunals Act, 1996, appointed Advocate Gerhard Wilhelm Visagie as the Acting Head of the Special Investigating Unit (SIU).
Advocate Visagie is the Executive Manager of Legal Services in the SIU and has been with the institution since 1997, having previously served in the erstwhile Heath Commission.
The appointment of Advocate Visagie follows the resignation of Advocate Vas Soni for personal reasons. Adv Soni left the institution on Friday, 28 February 2015.
