Premier Thandi Modise calls for more investment in skills development

North West Premier Thandi Modise urges corporate, private organisations, provincial government departments and municipalities to invest in skill development to release quality potential. Premier Modise made the call at the start of World Quality Week 2012 and World Quality Day to be celebrated on Thursday.

“The constitution enjoins us to improve the quality of life of all citizens and free the potential of each person for them to perform to optimum quality levels. Quality management and its focus on improving efficiency and productivity can help organisations achieve a strong competitive advantage to survive the current economic downturn” says Modise.

The purpose of World Quality Day is to promote awareness of quality around the world and to encourage individuals' development and organisations' prosperity.

This year’s World Quality Week is celebrated under the theme Quality: Delivering Competitive Advantage.
