Death of North West FM presenter shocks Premier Mahumapelo

The Premier of Bokone Bophirima Province Supra Obakeng Ramoeletsi Mahumapelo has reacted with shock and sadness over the sudden death of Ms Vuyo Comfort Matunda who was employed by North West FM as a radio presenter. Matunda who hails from Mahikeng, Montshiwa township, passed on in the early hours of this morning, Thursday 20 August 2015.

Extending his deepest sympathy and heartfelt condolences to the Matunda family, Premier Mahumapelo said Vuyo’s death is a great loss not only to the family, friends and North West FM colleagues, but to the broader Bokone Bophirima community.

“Her untimely death has robbed Bokone Bophirima people of a talented and vibrant young woman, who was committed to playing her role in entertaining and empowering her listeners through uplifting, thought provoking and life-changing on-air conversations”.

“No words can express the extent of our sorrow for the loss of your loved one. On behalf of the Provincial Government, I wish her family, friends and colleagues immense strength and comfort during this difficult time. Our hearts and prayers are with you,” Premier Mahumapelo said.

Premier Mahumapelo says as a woman, Matunda made her mark in the media fraternity, and will always be missed by her listeners. “May her youthful soul rest in eternal peace”, Premier Mahumapelo said.

Matunda started her radio career at a community radio station, Mafikeng FM, before joining North West FM in 2008.
