Premier Supra Mahumapelo congratulates award-winning community newspaper

The recent recognition of North West on Sunday community newspaper as the 2014 Sanlam/MDDA Best Community Newspaper reflects a combination of sincere determination and the eager to succeed.
 
This is what Premier Supra Obakeng Ramoeletsi Mahumapelo said following the announcement of North West on Sunday newspaper as the winner of the Best Newspapers category at the awards ceremony that was held recently at Emperors Palace in Kempton Park.
 
Extending the Provincial Government’s congratulations to Mr Paul Moola who is the Editor of North West on Sunday, Premier Mahumapelo together with the Executive Council attributed the newspaper’s achievement to absolute dedication and the will to empower rural communities through information sharing.
 
“The newspaper’s milestone represents a notable effort to positively contribute towards shaping up the image of our Province. We salute team North West on Sunday for claiming their space in the community media industry, and encourage them to focus their energies towards growing their readership”, stated Premier Mahumapelo who challenged them to aim for other categories in this year’s competition, this as a yardstick for improved performance.
 
“We also encourage other Bokone Bophirima based community newspapers to draw inspiration from success stories such as this one, and strive for nothing but the best. Fundamental to this call is to ensure that our newspapers communicate messages that define the purpose for which these newspapers exist”, expressed Premier Mahumapelo.
 
Premier Mahumapelo added that the appreciation and recognition of efforts put by all provincial stakeholders who continue to give substance to the strategy to Rebrand, Reposition and Renew the Province, will go a long way in helping the Provincial Government to attain radical socio-economic transformation as envisioned in the National Development Plan.
