The Premier of the North West, Maureen Modiselle, has noted media reports attributed to the provincial structures of South African Democratic Teacher's Union (SADTU) and Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU) calling for the dismissal of MEC for Education, Rev OJ Tselapedi.
The provincial government wishes to state that the Office of the Premier has not formally received such a request from either SADTU or COSATU. It is unfortunate that this matter has been raised in the public domain. The Premier believes that such matters can best be resolved through dialogue and engagement. She has, accordingly, arranged to meet with all parties tomorrow, Wednesday.
