Eastern Cape Premier Phumulo Masualle is in Chungcheongnam-do, South Korea where he is leading a high level Provincial delegation on a working visit aimed at strengthening relations between the two Provinces. The visit will see Premier Masualle and his counterpart Hee-jung Ahn meeting to formalise cooperation for mutual development between the two Provinces. Since 2012 the two have been in talks while exchange programmes were implemented.
The two sides will also explore opportunities for foreign investment, create trading opportunities, and build learning networks in agriculture research while identifying skills development and training opportunities for Eastern Cape Public Servants; a move aimed at building a citizen oriented public service. The Province will also explore opportunities in aquaculture with the aim of unlocking its potential in maritime/ocean economy.
The Premier’s delegation includes Economic Development and Environmental Affairs MEC Sakhumzi Somyo, Rural Development and Agrarian Reform MEC Mlibo Qoboshiyane, and high ranking Provincial Government and State Owned Enterprises officials.
During the visit in Chungcheongnam-do Premier Masualle and the delegation will visit, among other places, Chungnam Techno Park, Chungnam Agriculture and Extension Services, Eusung Farmlands, and Chungcheongnam-do Administration.
The Premier is expected to return to South Africa on Friday.
