The Eastern Cape Office of the Premier is embarking on a province wide Public Servants Policy Engagement Programme from the month of June to November 2015. This initiative seeks to realise the Batho Pele Revitalisation Strategy that was developed by the Department of Public Service and Administration (DPSA). The strategy has been informed by the baseline analysis conducted on implementation of the Batho Pele principles after which four themes were recommended as strategic mechanisms for accelerated implementation of the Batho Pele programme.
- Deepen the understanding of the alignment of the National Development Plan, Provincial Development Plans and the State of the Province Address.
- Enhance good and productive working relations between staff and management in public service institutions and District government officials
- To effectively disseminate government information and heighten awareness on effective service delivery that will benefit citizens
- Ensure the alignment of the service delivery imperatives and closing the gap between policy formulation and implementation
- Serve as a platform to advance the development of shared public sector norms and values across all spheres of government.
The Sessions will give impetus to a number of Batho Pele Revitalisation Strategies aimed at reviving and strengthening institutional culture change and ensure that citizens benefit from services that they are entitled to.
