Communities should unite against religious intolerance and Xenophobia, North West Premier Supra Mahumapelo highlighted in declaring support for the “Bring Back Our Girls Campaign” in his Africa Day Message.
“Africa’s funding fathers envisaged a united and strong Africa that is free of violence, political strife and conflicts. We owe it to future generations to give freedom meaning through accelerated service delivery,” Premier Mahumapelo said.
Mahumapelo said that founding fathers like Pixley Ka-Seme, Kwane Nkrumah, Julius Nyerere, Augustinho Neto, Oginga Odinga, Kenneth Kaunda, Amilcar Cabral, Thomas Sankara, Samora Machel, Oliver Tambo and Nelson Mandela knew that the existence and experience of peace and stability is as one of the preconditions for economic growth and development.
“Good governance enhances democracy as well as efficiency in the economy and is critical for us to sustain our hard-won freedoms,” he added.
