Eastern Cape Premier Ms Noxolo Kiviet said her government plans to create 60 000 work opportunities during this current financial year. Premier Kiviet made this announcement in Bhisho in her State of the Province Address. This is set to bring some sigh of relief to unemployed people in the provinces who are hard hit by the current economic down turn.
Said Premier Kiviet: “Over the next five years our target is to create 480 000 work opportunities, across all departments and at local government level. This will be done through the implementation of phase two of the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP).
