New National Lotteries Commission offices to make a meaningful impact in North West – Premier Mokgoro
North West Premier Professor Tebogo Job Mokgoro believes the opening of the National Lotteries Commission offices in Mahikeng will go a long in changing the lives of the ordinary residents in the province.
Premier Mokgoro together with National Lotteries Commission Board Chairperson, Professor Alfred Nevhutanda official opened the National Lotteries Commission offices in Golfview – Mahikeng, as part of the efforts to make applications for funding community projects accessible in this Province.
Prof Nevhutanda said they want people to submit their applications at offices in their own province.
‘’We don’t want people to struggle to submit their applications, they must submit applications at the province of their origin’’ said Prof Nevhutanda.
He also added that these offices form part of the new infrastructure initiatives in the province.
‘‘This is the structure that must take part in the infrastructure development of the province. Who knows in the next three or five years we may want to establish other satellites offices in different districts of this province’’ remarked Prof. Nevhutanda.
Premier Mokgoro who was accompanied by MEC for Provincial Treasury Motlalepula Rosho, commended the commission for the exceptional work that they are doing in helping to fund community projects with the little they have.
“Their annual income which they don’t get from government is about R1,8 Billion and with this money they are able to look after different projects in the entire country’’
Mokgoro said the commission have spent money in the province by funding some which have gone long way in improving their situations.
“I think they spent more than R248 Million on arts, sports, charities, education, old age homes, amongst other projects. As government we can learn a lot from them in making the necessary impact in our communities with the budget that we’re administering’’ concluded Premier Mokgoro.
