Police in KwaZulu-Natal, together with Durban Metro Police and Road Traffic Inspectorate are reminding the residence of Durban and the surrounding areas, as well as visitors that there will be road closures on major roads and selected streets which will lead to traffic disruptions on Sunday, 16 August and Monday 17 August 2026. This is due to the ongoing 46th SADC Ordinary Summit at the Durban ICC.
Football lovers who will be going to the Kings Park Stadium to watch the Betway Premiership match between Chippa United FC and Orlando Pirates FC are advised to travel to the stadium early to avoid delays. Certain roads which will be used by dignitaries will experience hard closures at certain intersections and that will add pressure on the traffic flow.
Road users are urged to comply with law enforcement instructions to avoid unnecessary confrontations.
