Today 10 August 2011, a 31 year old reservist, Teenage Mabogaane together with two other men, Solly Lekgoteoane 44 and Pedi Kgodi 48, appeared before the Witbank Magistrate Court for burglary.
The crime was committed at ABSA Bank in Klipfontein near Witbank and the trio
were apprehended yesterday.
The suspects broke the door of a shop that is being renovated and dug a hole on the wall that led them into the Bank. They ripped off the security system which had already sent a signal then stole a huge amount of cash. A security firm responded to the scene and informed police.
Three of the suspects were busted and one of them is a police reservist stationed at Witbank. Police managed to recover the money and equipment used to dig the wall. A vehicle believed to have been used as mode of transport in the commission of the crime was also recovered. Other suspects managed to escape.
The case has been to postponed to 17 August 2011, for formal bail application.
