Police remove drugged tea from shelves

The police in Limpopo have ensured the removal of a mysterious Coca Tea from two chain stores in the province and are determined to hunt down its distributers after the tea was found to be containing cocaine.

Police were alerted about this supposedly health tea after a woman complained about dizziness moments after drinking the tea. The woman consulted a doctor who conducted the test. Both the doctor and the patient were perplexed to find out she had been drugged with cocaine. The police raided the two stores in Polokwane, a well-known grocery store and a leading pharmaceutical company to remove all the sachets from the shelves but the latter defied police’s instruction. The tea bags were taken for forensic investigations and tested positive for cocaine.

Thorough investigations ensued and all the endeavours to bring the perpetrators to book reached a cul-de-sac after the addresses stated at the back of the tea packet were false. The origin of the tea has not yet been established and members of the community are urged to refrain from buying the tea.

Investigations to determine how the tea happened to be on the shelves of the said stores are at an advanced stage. Investigations have revealed that the pharmacy in Gauteng is the delivery point and criminal charges are looming against those involved.
