Two of the three men arrested in connection with the robbery of a shop in the Vaal Mall and another one in Irene, Pretoria appeared in the Vereeniging Magistrate’s Court yesterday where their case was postponed to 14 November 2014 in order to allow the detectives more time for further investigations.
Collin Moyo (31) and Kaizer Dube (42) were arrested nearly two weeks ago by members of the South African Police Service’s Crime Intelligence Division and the Tactical Operation and Management Section in Gauteng. At the time of their arrest for the robbery in the Vaal, the two, who are believed to be members of a gang, were already on the list of wanted suspects in connection with the robbery of another shop in Irene, Pretoria. They were arrested hours after the Vaal Mall robbery, south of Johannesburg.
At the time of the Irene robbery, Moyo, Dube and the two other members of the gang who are still at large, allegedly escaped in a Toyota Quantum while another accused, Takalani Tshalibe (31), was swiftly caught in Olifantsfontein after a high-speed chase in an Audi, which was found to have been stolen in a robbery in Secunda, Mpumalanga. Tshalibe, who will be appearing in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court alone this Friday, will face two charges of robbery and possession of a stolen motor vehicle.
The three are expected to appear in court together soon, once all the dockets in their cases have been consolidated.
