The Portfolio Committee on Sport and Recreation wishes to thank former Banyana Banyana player Ms Portia Modise for being an excellent sport ambassador for South Africa.
The Committee believes Ms Modise has been one of the country’s best football players. Her passion and drive for soccer placed our country very high in women’s football. This is evident from her record of more than 100 international goals for Banyana Banyana.
The Committee has no doubt that she will excel in her new role of coaching and guiding other football players. The Committee believes South Africa is fortunate to have someone of Ms Modise’s calibre in sport and wishes her well in her future endeavour.
