Parliament plans to visit President Jacob Zuma's residence in Nkandla

Ad Hoc Committee on Police Minister’s Report plans to visit Nkandla

The Ad Hoc Committee established to consider the Police Minister’s report regarding the security upgrades at the Nkandla private residence of President Jacob Zuma has today adopted a programme which includes a possible visit to President Zuma’s Nkandla homestead.

Committee Chairperson, Mr Cedric Frolick, said the visit to Nkandla, which is scheduled for 22 July, would serve as a mechanism to assist Committee members when they evaluate the Police Minister’s report. Committee members will have an opportunity to deliberate on the outcomes of the site visit to Nkandla versus what is contained in the Police Minister’s report on 23 July in Parliament.

The adopted programme is scheduled to kick off on 21 July with the Police Minister tabling his report before the Committee. On 24 July the Committee will then get an opportunity to assess its work and make a determination on what should follow next.
