Parliament’s Presiding Officers extend their condolences to the family and friends of National Assembly (NA) Member Ms Yolanda Botha who has passed away following a battle with skin cancer.
Her illness prevented her from fully taking up her duties as a Member of the NA in the fifth democratic Parliament, which was established after the May general elections. However, she served as Chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Social Development during the fourth democratic Parliament.
Ms Botha also served in a number of capacities in African National Congress (ANC) structures in the Northern Cape, the Northern Cape Provincial Legislature and government and was, at the time of her death, a member of the national executive committee of the ANC Women’s League.
