Sport Committee congratulates phenomenal Wayde Van Niekerk
The Portfolio Committee on Sport and Recreation wishes to congratulate 23-year-old athletics sprinter Wayde van Niekerk on winning a gold medal at the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) World Championships in Beijing yesterday.
The Committee is proud of the milestone Wayde van Niekerk has achieved to become the first African 400m runner in almost a century to win a major global title. Mr van Niekerk has made all South Africans proud.
The Committee wishes all athletes participating in the IAAF World Championships well.
