Parliament attended proceedings in the Labour Court yesterday in Cape Town, in the matter between suspended Parliamentary Protection Services Head, Ms Zelda Holtzman and Parliament.
The hearing was for an application by Ms Holtzman to the Labour Court in order to interdict internal disciplinary proceedings against her from commencing on a number of grounds, including the fact that she had referred a dispute pertaining to her precautionary suspension to the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration(CCMA), which is pending.
Parliament argued that the matter before the CCMA does not relate to the Disciplinary hearing but referred to alleged unfair suspension.
Judgement was reserved and the court requested copies of the CCMA decision on the issue of jurisdiction, which is expected on Monday, 9 November.
