Reaffirming its standing as the best performing and improved police station in the Free State, the Parkweg Police Station continues its victorious run and walked away with the laurels as the most effective Police Station during a prestigious award in a national survey-driven contest spearheaded by the business magazine, PMR Africa.
The station added another feather in its cap and putting the SAPS in the Free State on the map by walking off with the Diamond Arrow Award. The Diamond arrow award follows hot on the heels of the golden arrow the station just picked up at the 2013 PMR. Africa Free State Provincial Survey, Leaders and Achievers Awards.
The award ceremony was held at the Emoya Estate resort in Bloemfontein on 19 September 2014. The award was based on the results of a survey done on public perceptions of Police Stations in the province based on their effectiveness and efforts. This was the 8th award received by the station since 2007.
The results are based on a three months survey conducted by PMR Africa between April 2014 and July 2014 and covered all business and government sectors. The rating criteria for the candidates of this prestigious award involved the levels of innovation displayed, implementation of corporate governance, managerial expertise, client service and satisfaction, what the company or department has done to enhance economic growth and development of country.
The survey respondents included a random national sample of 110 participants which involved CEO`s, MD`s, Business Owners, Company directors, Managers and Senior government officials. The respondents for this survey were required to nominate a company or department within specific business sector mentioned by PMR Africa researchers and then rate them against set criteria. There were no prompts to mention or rate any specific company during this process and no institutions were able to proactively enter the awards.
Based on this year's survey results, Parkweg Police Station received the outstanding 1st overall rating of 5.00 out of a possible 5.00 under the category” The Most Effective South African Police Station in the Free State Province.”
Receiving the award at the ceremony, the Station Commander of Parkweg, Brigadier Khothatso Ramokotjo asserts that the acknowledgement by PMR Africa is a testament to the station association with excellence. He added that the station was able to win this award owing to its competent and winning operational team and their consistent commitment to hard work and operational excellence.
He then concluded by reiterating that receiving this award has therefore unequivocally proven that Parkweg is the undisputed station in fighting crime in the security sector in the Province and have once again set a benchmark as they are completely committed to superior client service and satisfaction in crime fighting. He also applauded the positive partnership and continued support from the community.
