Overview of South Africa’s compliance with the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action

On 24 to 25 February 2011, the Commission for Gender Equality (CGE) in collaboration with Dr Kenneth Kaunda District Municipality will be hosting a briefing at Dr. Keneth Kaunda District Municipal Chambers, on the Beijing +15 processes. This is informed by the CGE’s report on the process outlining their assessments of the extent of implementation of commitments by our government of Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action. This report focuses on general gender assessment of achievements and challenges.

At this briefing the CGE will share its findings and create space for engagements on how the country can improve its implementation process to ensure that commitments made at BFA are achieved. The meeting will include stakeholders from various sectors.
