About eight housing projects in the Kgetleng River Local Municipality would be audited to determine the kind of interventions needed by the North West Department of Human Settlements, Public Safety and Liaison to speed-up the completion process.
In her meeting with regional managers, project managers and administrators, the departmental MEC instructed that an overall audit must be conducted in all housing projects within the municipality on delivery challenges.
MEC Mohono said the audit report would determine and recommend the kind of intervention needed for the department to implement so as to complete all outstanding projects within the Kgetleng River Local Municipality.
“The overall audit in these projects will guide us on what we are dealing with and what needs to be done so that we can be able to map a way forward.”
“Immediately after completing the audit, we would need to move with speed in implementing recommendations made. Our people have waited for long and we really need to close these long awaited projects,” concluded Mohono.
