The Gauteng Department of Education has established operation centres in each of the 15 district offices to assist parents to resolve any admission related problem, which they may encounter.
The district operation centres will handle all admission inquiries where parents bring learners on the first day of school without having registered them. This normally happens in the township schools and the department appeals to all parents to go to the district office to address admissions inquiries.
The head office operation centre will deal with learners from outside the province seeking space, and those parents appealing against district placement decisions. Each district director will be personally responsible for coordinating their respective district’s operations centre. The district operations centre will be operational from Monday, 11 January 2010 until Friday, 29 January 2010 from 8h00 to 16h00.
Parents are requested to contact the appropriate district director for assistance. The list of names and contact details are available on the website (http://www.education.gpg.gov.za/Documents/ADMISSION_BRIEFING_NOTES.pdf).
