A case of fraud and corruption has been opened at Phalaborwa SAPS against three officials employed at a private vehicle testing station in Phalaborwa.
The officials are suspected of issuing roadworthy certificates to vehicles that were not tested. The suspects include two white females (the managing director and an e-NaTis user) and one African male (examiner). The suspects were detained for further investigation.
MEC for Roads and Transport in Limpopo, Pinky Kekana, stated that “this is tangible proof of our zero tolerance to fraud and corruption”. The MEC has re-iterated her appeal to anyone with information on fraud and corruption to come forward.
