North West targets small medium and micro enterprises (SMME) development as key priority for job creation

Small medium and micro enterprises (SMMEs) in the North West province are to benefit through R24 million set aside for facilitation of access to business opportunities, financing and provision of affordable infrastructure.

In her State of the Province Address delivered in the Provincial legislature in Mahikeng on Friday, North West Premier Thandi Modise identified small industries as a key priority to create jobs.

Modise reported that R12 million has already been transferred to relevant state entities to assist with SMME development. Ten million is to be spend on light industries and a further R2 million on car wash, sisal and wild silk projects.
