North West speedster arrested on N4 for clocking 181 km/h

A 31 years old Rustenburg businessman was arrested by North West Public Safety Traffic Officers for clocking 181 km/h on a 120 kilometre speeding zone on the N4 Bakwena Platinum Highway on Saturday afternoon.

The businessman was driving an Audi A4 with Mpumalanga registration from
Rustenburg to Zeerust, he was arrested at a speed operation around noon between Swartruggens and Groot Marico.

He was released on a bail of R2500 and is expected to appear at the Swartruggens Magistrates Court on Tuesday 6 April 2010. The provincial department’s Easter long weekend operations have prioritised speed operations in order to reduce road accidents hence the campaign is dubbed speed to Easter Arrive Alive Campaign.
