The Speaker of the North West Legislature, the Honourable Supra Mahumapelo, congratulates the North West SCOPA Chairperson, the Honourable Hlomane Chauke, on his election as the General Secretary of the Association of Public Accounts Committees (APAC).
The Honourable Chauke was elected as the APAC General Secretary during APAC 14th Annual General meeting held in Port Elizabeth last week. The Annual General meeting was part of APAC’s Annual General Conference.
As the NW Legislature, we view his election as a sign of confidence to the Honourable Chauke and the entire North West Provincial Legislature. Indeed, under him the oversight role of SCOPA in the North West province has improved and fulfilled the South African Constitution ethos.
Part of the Honourable Chauke’s responsibilities will be to oversee the activities of the APAC Secretariat which is based in Pretoria at the Auditor-General’s Office.
The North West legislature wishes the Honourable Chauke all the best in his new added oversight responsibility.
