North West receives improved audit outcomes for 2014/15

Bokone Bophirima Provincial Government receives 2014/15 audit outcomes

The Auditor-General has commended the Bokone Bophirima Provincial Government for the audit outcome of the 2014/15 financial year. ”These audit outcomes represent an improvement for the provincial government in light of the radical reconfiguration of departments embarked upon which could result in adverse disclaimers had the province not worked hard and consistently throughout the 2014/15 financial year”, the Auditor-General said.

As he received the audit outcomes, Premier S.O.R. Mahumapelo congratulated the Department of Finance, Economy & Enterprise Development for sustaining the achievement of a clean audit outcome. He called on government departments to work on the identified findings so that they also achieve clean audits.

Ten departments received unqualified opinions with findings and no department received an adverse disclaimer.

Mahumapelo informed the Auditor-General that the Bokone Bophirima Provincial Government took a decision that on a monthly basis the Executive Council will receive reports on audit matters, to institutionalize consequence management and to measure the positivity from audit outcomes against the implementation of measures to reduce poverty, inequality and unemployment.

“The audit outcomes show that we are on course in so far as the Rebranding, Repositioning and Renewal of the province is concerned,” Mahumapelo said.
