North West Provincial Legislature on discovery of Ms Molefe

The North West Provincial Legislature Speaker, Hon. Supra Mahumapelo welcomes the discovery of the remains of Ms Ketlagomang Ivy Molefe with mixed emotions. Hon. Mahumapelo said the Legislature extends its heartfelt condolences to the family, relatives, friends, neighbors and the people of Mahikeng and North West Province.

“We acknowledge the contribution made by the distinguished members of the community and the police whose reaction to her disappearance led to the arrests of suspects and subsequent discovery of her remains,” said Hon. Mahumapelo.

He said the Legislature will continue to condemn the abuse, torture and killing of womenfolk and call for perpetrators of such hideous and inhumane acts to be brought to book.

“The South  African women have always been at the receiving end of abuse and torture, it is our women who have suffered triple oppression at the hands of our oppressor.

“We hope that the discovery of her remains will help her family and friends find closure,” said Hon. Mahumapelo.

The North West Provincial Legislature wishes the family well on this difficult period and will keep them on prayers.
