North West Premier, Mme Thandi Modise has made a renewed undertaking that the North West Provincial government will fight tenderprenuers, theft, misuse of resources and corruption ruthlessly and deal with it “like a dog deals with a bone.”
Premier Modise together with MEC for Human Settlements, Public Safety & Liaison, Ms Desbo Mohono and MEC for Finance, Louisa Mabe assured residents who attended the Public Participation Programme in Oesonskraal on Wednesday that contractors who failed to deliver on their contractual obligations are to be pursued relentlessly, blacklisted across the whole of government and their assets attached.
This will be applicable to contractors who failed to deliver in housing delivery programmes, road construction projects and other projects awarded by provincial government departments and municipalities across the province.
MEC Mohono said that her department is working with the Special Investigating Unit (SIU) in this regard.
