North West Local Government and Traditional Affairs Acting MEC Paul Sebegoe appeals for order, calm and restraint in Letlhabile

The Acting MEC for Local Government and Traditional Affairs in the North West, Paul Sebegoe has appealed to the community of Letlhabile near Brits to remain calm and not to engage in any violent activities, destruct public amenities and barricade the roads. MEC Sebegoe’s appeal follows a service delivery protest in the area, early today. At the top of the issues raised, is the poor water quality.

“Whilst we understand that the community might be angry, government has got platforms which they can use to raise their concerns. The Department of Local Government and Traditional Affairs will as a matter of urgency, dispatch a rapid response team to the area to meet with all relevant stakeholders in order to find a lasting solution to the issues raised.  In the meantime, we would like to appeal to members of the exercise patience and restraint”, he said.
