North West Legislature Portfolio Committee on Public Works, Roads, Community Safety and Transport sends heartfelt condolences to families of slain Police officers

The North West Provincial Legislature's Portfolio Committee on Public Works, Roads, Community Safety and Transport Management led by Hon. Onicca Medupe sends heartfelt condolences to the families of the policeman and the 44-year old policewoman who died during a shootout between the Crime Prevention Unit and the alleged Cash-in-Transit criminals that invaded Mahikeng this week.

"Both the police officers who died in the line of duty have families, they have children whose parents did not come back home after going to work on a normal day. We really sympathise with the families and we are grateful to them for dedicating their lives to protect the lives of the citizens of this country," said Hon. Medupe.

Hon Medupe also commended the police for their swift action in apprehending the criminals.

"Whether they were apprehended dead or alive, the swift action by the police is commended. It serves a clear message to criminals that law enforcement officers are on their tails. I also want to wish a speedy recovery to the community members that were shot during the incident," said Hon. Medupe.
