Roma Nna Setsokotsane 10x10 provincial focus on Maquassi Hills Local Municipality
Villages, townships and small dorpies in Maquassi Hills Local Municipality will for the next 10 days be a hive of activities as the North West Provincial Government will be taking services to these areas, this as part of the monthly Roma Nna Setsokotsane 10x10 Campaigns programme.
The rolling out of this service delivery driven initiative will start tomorrow, Wednesday 11 April, with Bua le Puso Community meetings which will be held at all 11 Wards in Maquassi Hills Local Municipality. These community meetings will all start at 16h00.
Some of the services which will be rendered on the second day of this 10 days long programme will include cleaning of areas such as the Lebaleng library, Maquasie community hall, the local museum, beautification of Boskuil School, as well as clearing of illegal dumping sites.
Other services to be provided in the subsequent days will include amongst others, roads patching, oversight on rehabilitation and upgrading of roads by the department of Finance, Economy and Enterprise Development, street light fixing, registration of businesses on the Central Suppliers Database (CSD), awareness sessions on tendering processes, roadshow on Business Regulation, registration of Title Deeds, RDP Applications at Ext. 15, Memorial Lecture and Story Telling of Mama Winnie Madikizela-Mandela, Memorial Lecture of Nelson Mandela and Albertina Sisulu led by department of Culture, Arts and Traditional Affairs, awareness on SASSA Grants payment and transition to South African Post Office (SAPO), as well as healthy living activities.
“While the provincial focus of Roma Nna Setsokotsane 10x10 campaigns will for this month be on Maquassi Hills Local Municipality, this does not mean the campaigns will not be rolled out in other local municipalities. We continue to urge communities across the province’s 407 Wards to participate in these campaigns, as it is through their involvement that the objective of these campaigns will be achieved”, explained Brian Setswambung, the provincial spokesperson, adding that communities’ attendance at the Bua le Puso meetings is critical as this platform affords them the opportunity to get feedback on developments affecting their areas.
The Roma Nna Setsokotsane 10x10 Campaigns were initiated by the provincial leadership as part of the 5th Administration’s approach to accelerate delivery of services to the communities, while at the same time encouraging the spirit of planning and working together among the public and private sectors.
The campaigns are rolled out from the 11th to the 20th of every month across all local municipalities in the province. Provincial MECs are on a monthly basis deployed to lead these campaigns at local municipalities, with this month’s deployment focusing on Maquassi Hills Local Municipality. Last month’s deployment was on Mahikeng Local Municipality.
Members of the members are invited to cover the Roma Nna Setsokotsane 10x10 activities planned for this month.
