The North West Provincial government is targeting to create 10 000 labour intensive jobs during the 2011/12 financial year. This announcement was made by Premier Thandi Modise in her State of the Province Address on Friday in Mahikeng.
Premier Modise said that the Iterele job creation and contractor development initiative launched by the provincial government is in living up to the priority of creating decent work and sustainable livehood.
Modise said that the initiative will give preferential treatment to youth, women and people with disabilities .
