North West Government clamps down on corruption

As part of the ongoing efforts to rebrand, reposition and renew the North West Province, the Provincial Government reiterates an announcement which Premier Supra Obakeng Ramoeletsi Mahumapelo recently made on the appointment of a legal advisory panel to offer legal advisory services and intervention.

The legal advisory panel will consider all litigation cases, forensic investigation reports and allegations of fraud and corruption.  In return the panel will advice on how to deal with litigation cases, allegations of fraud and corruption, as well as speedy implementation of all forensic and other misconduct cases recommendations.

The Executive Council has also taken a resolution on the implementation of consequence management after investigations shall have been conducted on irregular, wasteful and fruitless expenditures flowing from the 2014/5 Auditor General’s report, for both Municipalities and Provincial Departments.

The North West Provincial Government therefore invites anyone with information on corruption to approach the panel and furnish it with such information to ensure that investigations are done and appropriate action is taken. The panel is chaired by Advocate Ngcukaitobi and Advocate Makoti is the secretary. They can be contacted at the following:
