North West Executive Council (EXCO) announces outcome of reevaluation of the Koster-Lichtenburg road tender

The North West Provincial Government is to announce the outcome of the reevaluation of the R93, 5 million Koster-Lichtenburg road rehabilitation tender and way forward at a media briefing is to be held today, Thursday 10 November 2011 in Mmabatho.

The media briefing to be held in the conference room situated on the 1st Floor of the North West Provincial Legislature is scheduled for 14h00.It is to be addressed by North West Premier, Mme Thandi Modise and the Acting MEC for Public Works, Roads and Transport, Raymond Elisha.

The tender has been subject of court litigations between Globul Roads and Down Touch Investment Pty Ltd with allegations of irregularity in the bid process being leveled against the provincial department of Public Works, Roads and Transport.

A court interdict by Down Touch Investment Pty Ltd alleging interference by Premier Mme Thandi Modise was dismissed with costs by the North West High Court recently.

Premier Modise has committed her administration to clean governance, to fight corruption and maladministration across departments including municipalities and has vowed that her administration will not be intimidated or deterred to seek the truth on the fairness, transparency and cost effectiveness of awarded tenders.
