North West economic projects to create more jobs

Ten projects to stimulate economic development, address under-development and boost job creation opportunities are to be rolled out in the North West province, Premier Thandi Modise announced in her State of the Province address on Friday.

The multi-million projects announced by the Premier Modise are a sequel to the North West Industrialisation Summit that was hosted by the province in November last year.

Key projects to be rolled are within the infrastructure, green economy, the mining supply park, metal fabrication to cater for capital and transport equipment and Agro processing in livestock, game beneficiation and Small Scale Maize Milling, metal fabrication to cater for capital and transport equipment and sector development zone, Automotive Products and components sector development, platinum beneficiation, plastic and chemical sector development zone and the Electronics sector development zone and Business process services (BPSs) sector development zone are some of the identified projects.

Modise clarified that other potential scale industrial projects are to be identified in different sectors in the province through special economic zone. She also announced that the province will be hosting a provincial job summit in partnership with the department of labour on the 8th of next month.
