The North West Department of Health bids farewell to Dr Angelika “Mmakabelo” Krug

The North West Department of Health will tomorrow bid farewell to Dr Angelika “Mmakabelo” Krug. Dr. Krug, a native of German came to South Africa in January 1984 and trained as a medical intern at Garankuwa Hospital.

From 1985 until 1990 she served as a Medical Officer at Lehurutshe Hospital. She then moved to Garankuwa Hospital in 1990 where she served for four years specialising in paediatrics. From 1995 up to date, Dr. Krug has been serving the Ngaka Modiri Molema Health District as a District Paediatrician assisting the following health facilities: Mafikeng Provincial Hospital, Gelukspan Hospital, Thusong Hospital, Zeerust/Lehurutshe Hospital and the local authority clinics in Zeerust and Lichtenburg.

After 28 years of selfless service particularly in the rural communities of the North West province, the Department would like to wish Dr. Krug well in her early retirement. She has been valued member of the Department particularly the health professionals and she will be sorely missed by members of the practice.
