North West Department of Health and Social Development to share experience of hosting champions with Limpopo

In an effort to ensure extensive health care during FIFA Confederations Cup, the North West Health and Social Development have joined hands with the Limpopo Department Health to augment the medical staff establishment that will be on duty at Royal Bafokeng Stadium.

As part of the agreement, Limpopo will make available two emergency physicians, two nurses and eighteen emergency medical rescue services personnel with five ambulances.

The hosting will provide Limpopo Department of Health with experience in planning and execution of duties during FIFA organised events in line with general guidelines provided by the Local Organising Committee’s (LOC) technical committee regarding the design, criteria for medical centre and medical posts at the stadium and fan parks. Limpopo will host some of the matches during 2010 FIFA World Cup to be organized in South Africa.

The delegation from Limpopo arrives in Rustenburg on Saturday, 13 June 2009.

Rustenburg’s Royal Bafokeng Stadium will host two Group matches; Spain verses New Zealand and South Africa vs. New Zealand on 14 and 17 June respectively. The Bafokeng owned stadium will also be a venue to Ground B match between African Champions, Egypt and Spain on June 21 and third place match to play on 28 June at 15h00.
